Radius Networks Announces RadBeacon USB iBeacon
Washington, DC (PRWEB) January 22, 2014 -- Radius Networks, Inc., the leading provider of mobile proximity services, today announced the release of its RadBeacon USB iBeacon, a fully standalone proximity iBeacon implemented as a tiny USB dongle that can be powered by any available USB power source.
iBeacons are short range, Bluetooth Low Energy transmitters that can notify mobile devices when they come within 100 feet of the beacon. This micro-location proximity awareness can be leveraged to deliver a wide range of new innovative solutions, such as precision indoor navigation, automatic ticketing, guided museum tours and location-relevant offers and promotions.
"Our team has had extensive experience with real world deployments of iBeacon proximity solutions. We’ve taken the lessons learned from these projects and used them to develop RadBeacon USB. RadBeacon USB’s small size and battery-free operation make it the ideal solution for integrating with self-service kiosks, digital displays, point-of-sale terminals, fuel dispensers, vending machines and a host of other customer facing systems," said David Helms, Vice President of Business Development at Radius Networks.
"Along with RadBeacon USB, we’re releasing the RadBeacon app for iOS," said Chris Sexton, Director of Software Engineering for Radius Networks. The RadBeacon app gives users full configuration control of the RadBeacon USB’s iBeacon advertisement data configuration, transmit power and advertising rate, making RadBeacon USB highly adjustable to suit a wide variety of deployment scenarios.
"RadBeacon USB is a great addition to our suite of iBeacon technologies that also includes our iBeacon developer kits, our suite of iBeacon developer tools, and our ProximityKit cloud services and mobile SDKs for iOS and Android devices. The introduction of RadBeacon USB is continued proof that Radius Networks is the market leader in the enabling technologies that are helping developers deliver real mobile proximity solutions to their customers."
