Rancho Mission Viejo LLC Exceeds 350 Year-end Home Sales at Sendero, First Village On the New 14,000-Home Rancho Mission Viejo Community
Rancho Mission Viejo, CA (PRWEB) December 19, 2013 -- More than 350 new homes are projected to be sold by the end of 2013 at the 940-home village of Sendero, the first of several inter-generational villages planned for the new 14,000-home ranch community of Rancho Mission Viejo (“The Ranch”) in South Orange County, CA.
Approximately 10,000 homeshoppers attended the grand opening of Sendero on The Ranch in late June 2013. Since then, nearly 40,000 people have toured Sendero and its 11 different new-home neighborhoods offered by eight different homebuilders. Four of Sendero’s neighborhoods offer primarily single story homes within the gated 55-plus enclave of Gavilan.
Sendero home prices currently range from the high $300,000s to over $1 million; and Sendero homebuilders include Del Webb, Meritage Homes, Ryland Homes, SeaCountry Homes, Shea Homes, Standard Pacific Homes, TriPointe Homes, and William Lyon Homes. Construction will commence next year on approximately 285 apartment units by Western National Group.
In addition, very early homebuyer demographic information show that the majority of Sendero residents have relocated from within South Orange County (primarily from the communities of Ladera Ranch, Mission Viejo, Laguna Hills, Rancho Santa Margarita, and Aliso Viejo, in order of significance) as well as from Irvine, and the coastal areas of Laguna Beach, Laguna Niguel and Newport Beach. Within Gavilan, current homebuyers average between the ages of 60 and 70, while throughout the rest of Sendero, homebuyers average between the ages of 35 and 45, with some as young as the early 20s and as mature as their mid 60s.
“In just six months, we’ve sold more than one-third of the homes planned for Sendero and homeshopper traffic remains steady,” said Nadine Corrigan, Vice President of Marketing for Rancho Mission Viejo, LLC, stewards of Rancho Mission Viejo and community master planners/developers. “By the end of this year, nearly 200 households will be occupied at Sendero. Our early homebuyer demographics demonstrate a true inter-generational population mix as residents of all ages and families of all shapes and sizes make Sendero on The Ranch their new hometown.”
Now open at Sendero are three clubhouses (one exclusive to Gavilan residents), two fitness centers, pools, spas, a large “all age” village green with pathways leading to tot lots and picnic areas, bocce ball courts, fire pits, turf playgrounds, a native plant garden, and even a putting green as well as hiking/biking trails accessing select open spaces and a County Regional trails system. A host of village-wide events have already been conducted for residents with the year being capped-off by the first annual “El Prado in Lights” holiday festival.
In addition, now under construction and slated for a Fall 2014 opening are Sendero Field (a 15-acre community park) and the vegetable and fruit gardens of Sendero Farm. Planned for Sendero are the 10-acre Ranch Marketplace retail plaza and a fire station.
“The range of homes, diversity of social and recreational amenities, unique village-wide events and activities, as well as the spectacular open space setting of Sendero helps create a new model for multi-generational living, where active adults are provided with opportunities to intermingle with younger families and singles,” said Corrigan. “This blending of the ages fosters the ability for residents to connect based on interests versus age, and creates a new model for inter-generational living.”
Sendero is the first village on the new ranch community of Rancho Mission Viejo. In October 2013, the Rancho Mission Viejo community was recently named ‘Master-Planned Community of the Year’ by the Greater Sales and Marketing Council for the Building Industry Association of Southern California. Ultimately, Rancho Mission Viejo is planned to provide up to 14,000 homes within multiple inter-generational villages on just 6,000 acres of the 23,000-acre active ranch. The remaining 17,000 acres of family-held ranchlands will be part of the open spaces of The Reserve at Rancho Mission Viejo. Within the villages on The Ranch will be sites for new schools, parks and recreational facilities, up to five million square feet of commercial uses, and additional multi-use trails. In addition, up to 6,000 of The Ranch’s 14,000 new homes will be dedicated exclusively to homebuyers age 55-plus.
Sendero on The Ranch is situated near the intersection of Ortega Highway and Antonio Parkway, just 2.3 miles from downtown San Juan Capistrano and five miles from San Clemente and Doheny State Beach. Sendero offers easy access to the employment and retail centers of Ladera Ranch, Mission Viejo, Irvine, Rancho Santa Margarita and other Orange County areas.
