Rapiscan Systems Named Winner in Government Security News’s 2014 Airport, Seaport, Border Security Awards
Torrance, CA (PRWEB) July 28, 2014 -- Rapiscan Systems, Inc., a leading global supplier of security inspection systems, is pleased to announce its selection as the winner of the Best Nuclear/Radiation Detection Solution category in Government Security News (GSN) magazine’s 2014 Airport, Seaport, Border Security Awards. Rapiscan was also a finalist in the Best Cargo, Vehicle or Persons Screening category. The GSN Airport, Seaport, Border Security Awards recognize both longtime leaders as well as new organizations that are making brilliant innovations and proven technological advances in the security industry.
Rapiscan was named the winner in the Best Nuclear/Radiation Detection Solution category for its line of solutions used by the U.S. Department of Energy’s Second Line of Defense (SLD) program that works to interdict nuclear and radiological weapons and materials. In addition to the Nuclear/Radiation Detection win, Rapiscan was also named a finalist in the Best Cargo, Vehicle or Persons Screening category for its Eagle R60HS High Speed Rail Scanner. The Eagle R60HS is the world’s first high speed rail scanner capable of scanning rail containers moving up to 60 kilometers per hour. With the high-speed solution, containers do not have to be unloaded or diverted individually to a cargo inspection facility. Instead, the containers are screened during the normal movement of cargo, vastly increasing the speed of cargo throughput.
