Raptor Technologies Joins with Safe and Sound for Secure Learning Environments
Houston, TX and Newtown, CT (PRWEB) July 21, 2015 -- To improve the safety and security of schools across the United States, Raptor Technologies, the nation’s leading provider of visitor management software for K-12 schools, is partnering with Safe and Sound: A Sandy Hook Initiative. As a partner and Advisory Group member, Raptor will assist Safe and Sound with creating and delivering safety materials and best practices to school communities across the nation.
“Raptor Technologies understands the importance of providing school communities with resources and tools needed to maintain a safe and secure environment for our children to learn,” said Michele Gay, Co-Founder and Executive Director of Safe and Sound. “We’re delighted to partner with a company that shares a common mission to empower parents, unite communities and take action for improved school safety.”
Safe and Sound: A Sandy Hook Initiative is a non-profit organization founded by parents who lost children at Sandy Hook Elementary School in 2012. The organization aims to empower local communities and districts to improve school safety and security through meaningful discussions, collaboration, planning, and sharing of tools and resources.
“Our partnership with Safe and Sound is an element of our commitment to helping local communities ensure the safety of their children and improving school security by utilizing tools and resources that stop potential threats the moment they walk through the door,” said Jim Vesterman, CEO of Raptor Technologies. “Together we’re making our schools safer and creating a community that recognizes student safety as a top priority.”
Raptor’s goal is to enhance school safety and protect children in K-12 schools across the country by providing a web-based system that scans a school visitor’s ID against a national database of registered sex offenders, monitors custodial orders, and tracks who is coming in and out of the school buildings. To date, more than 13,000 K-12 schools use Raptor’s visitor management software.
