LAKE FOREST, Calif. (PRWEB) January 28, 2015 -- The Rare Beer Club®, one of the four U.S. and international monthly beer clubs offered by The Microbrewed Beer of the Month Club™, announces it will be providing two exclusive beers to club members in February of 2015: Lectio Divina from Saint Somewhere Brewing Company and Les Trois Mousquetaires’ maibock.
“We’re ramping up our game this year and planning to slot at least twelve exclusives made just for our members, so we decided to kick it off right by featuring two in February. Both are very different beers, both are exceptional,” says Kris Calef, president and founder of The Microbrewed Beer of the Month Club. “This year, we’re going to be working with Jolly Pumpkin, Monkish, Sudwerk, and other craft breweries to create exclusive beers for our members. In addition, we’re going to work with La Trappe and Belgium’s Brouwerij Wilderen to import new products to the US for the first time.”
The Lectio Divina from Saint Elsewhere Brewing Company, located in Tarpon Springs, Fla., is a 10% ABV Belgian-style Strong Pale Ale brewed specifically for Rare Beer Club members. While the original, lower ABV version was featured a few years ago, the one brewed exclusively for the club is crafted with home-made candi sugar and Brettanomyces, a notable yeast strain which gives Lectio Divina a citrusy, lime-like, slightly funky, farmhouse character. In addition, Brett dries out the beer while helping it naturally condition in the bottle. Brewmaster Bob Sylvester suggests drinking one now and aging another for 6 or more months to allow the Brett to be fully expressed.

Hailing from Brossard, Quebec, Canada, the Les Trois Mousquetaires brewery is a small brewing operation known for creating Old-World style beers, including the 6.8% ABV Maibock, available in the U.S. exclusively to Rare Beer Club members in February. Brewed with Pilsner and Munich malt varieties grown solely in Quebec, the Les Trois Mousquetaires maibock is a pale, malt-forward beer that features hoppy bitterness up front, but ends with herbal and honey notes.
