Raritan Bay Medical Center End of Year Board Activities
Perth Amboy, NJ (PRWEB) January 30, 2015 -- Raritan Bay Medical Center held its annual year end business meeting with new board members elected recently.
Board certified Radiologist Stephen Warren, MD, of Westfield, NJ, was elected to the Raritan Bay Health Services Corporation Board of Directors, the parent Board of Raritan Bay Medical Center (RBMC). He also serves on the RBMC Board of Directors, is a member of the Finance and Joint Conference committees and served as Chairperson of the medical center’s Department of Diagnostic Imaging from 1997 until early 2014. Dr. Warren received his Doctor of Medicine degree from the Mt. Sinai School of Medicine, New York, NY, and interned and completed his residency at Montefiore Medical Center, Bronx, NY. He is a member of the Radiological Society of New Jersey, Radiological Society of North America and American College of Radiology.
Board certified Anesthesiologist Andrew Citron, MD, of Manalapan, NJ, was elected to the Board of Directors of RBMC. Dr. Citron is Chairman of the Division of Anesthesiology, the Institutional Review Board and the Surgical Care Improvement Project Committee and Attending Anesthesiologist at RBMC. He is also Medical Director of The Surgery Center at Old Bridge in RBMC’s new medical arts building 2 Hospital Plaza and Medical Director and Chief of Anesthesiology for the Specialty Surgical Center of North Brunswick, NJ. Dr. Citron is a member of the Board of Directors and Medical Advisory Board for Resolute Anesthesia and Pain Solutions. He received his Doctor of Medicine degree from Tufts University School of Medicine, Boston, MA, served as an intern in General Surgery at Mt. Sinai Medical Center, New York, NY, and completed his residency in Anesthesiology at New York University, NY, NY. He is a member of the New Jersey State Society of Anesthesiologists and the American Society of Anesthesiologists.
Steven C. Goldberg, MD, of Long Branch, NJ, was elected to the Board of Directors of RBMC. Dr. Goldberg is Chairman, Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, at RBMC and head physician in RBMC’s Bay Obstetrics and Gynecology Practice. He received his medical doctorate from The University of Chicago, Pritzker School of Medicine, IL, completed his residency at The New York Hospital, Cornell University Medical College, NY, and is an Assistant Professor at Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School, New Brunswick, NJ. Dr. Goldberg is a Diplomat of the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology and Fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
Louis John Seminski, Jr., Esq., of Sayreville, NJ, was elected to the Board of Directors of RBMC. Mr. Seminski is Senior Associate on the Banking & Creditors’ Rights Team at Wilentz, Goldman & Spitzer, P.A., in Woodbridge, NJ. He is a Trustee of the Middlesex County Bar Association and a member of the Federal and Chancery Practice Committees of the Burlington and Atlantic County Bar Associations, the New Jersey State Bar Association and the Association of the Federal Bar. Mr. Seminski received his Juris Doctorate from Rutgers University School of Law, Camden, NJ.
The board serves many purposes, including: overseeing the purpose, plans and policies of the medical center and establishing those overall plans and policies, supervising RBMC’s leadership team, ensuring that the medical center has sufficient resources and is compliant with rules and regulations. The board also advocates for the medical center to external stakeholders and the community at large.
RBMC had several noteworthy events and accomplishments in 2014. The medical center and Meridian Health signed a letter of intent to explore a merger between the two organizations. RBMC became one of a few hospitals in the world to attain Magnet Status for nursing excellence for a third consecutive time and became an affiliate of the Joslin Diabetes Center, the world’s preeminent diabetes research and clinical care organization, and now provides some of the latest advances for treating diabetes and its complications as well as patient education and support services. The medical center’s diabetes self-management education program was subsequently recognized with the Education Recognition Certificate from the American Diabetes Association. In the fall, RBMC celebrated the opening of a new medical arts building 2 Hospital Plaza at its Old Bridge location. The multi-specialty building provides a full continuum of healthcare services, including; advanced diagnostic imaging, an ambulatory surgery center, diabetes center, five operating room suites, women’s imaging, a host of physician/specialist offices and more.
