RE/MAX Alliance Stands Up for Homeless Youth in Denver via Donation Drive
Denver, CO (PRWEB) July 12, 2017 -- RE/MAX Alliance, Westminster is hosting a donation drive from from 7/17-8/31 for StandUp For Kids Denver, whose mission is to end the cycle of adolescent homelessness and empower homeless and at-risk youth toward lifelong personal growth.
“With the growth of our state and metro area, there is a significant need to help provide the very basic essential needs for these young people in need,” said RE/MAX Alliance, Westminster Broker Associate Tuesdi Arrotta. “We have such a giving community. I hope to have a large response with this drive. The community’s giving I know will be so greatly appreciated.
Items needed, which can be dropped off at RE/MAX Alliance, 9737 Wadsworth Parkway, Westminster, CO 80021, include bus passes, gift cards to grocery stores and/or eateries, pop top lids of canned food such as Beefaroni, water bottles, Capri suns/drinks, snacks, gloves, socks, Band-Aids, Neosporin, sleeping bags, tarps, condoms and travel-size sunscreen, packets of baby wipes and sewing kits.
StandUp For Kids Denver conducts street outreach every Tuesday, at which time it distributes donated items and touches base with homeless youth. StandUp For Kids is 100% street-based, and also hosts dinners every Sunday from 4:30-6:30 p.m. at Cuernavaca Park in Denver for 70-90 homeless and hungry youth. The very best thing we do is what they told us we do best and that is that we show up for them! All the time...That's not something they're used to so it's a big deal and we take it seriously," said, Maureen McPadden, Executive Director of StandUp for Kids, Denver.
