ReACT v.3.5.2 Adds Authentication Image to Multi-Factor Authentication Capabilities

The release features the addition of authentication image technology to further enhance its multi-factor authentication features and capabilities and to provide users improved security.
ReACT, a self-service password reset and synchronization software tool for enterprise Help Desk installations, allows users to reset their own password and propagates the new one throughout all relevant systems and servers. The tool eliminates nearly all Help Desk calls, substantially reducing the need for staffing and other costs associated with Help Desk centers. Beyond providing self-sufficiency for most users to issue themselves new passwords it has many robust features to help support administrators and aid them in identifying and remedying security issues related to passwords, and works with z/OS, Windows Active Directory, Novell/eDirectory, and many other systems and software installations.
According to Tom Andrews, Vice President of Technology for ASPG, adding image authentication to ReACT is another way for users to be able to authenticate themselves for password reset based on something only they know – in this case, being able to identify a special image. “Adding another authentication method based on something the user knows, instead of something they have, allows them to be more device agnostic when resetting their password, if that’s what they choose,” said Andrews. “At the same, adding on more authentication factors, like image authentication, exponentially increases security for the users and systems involved. It’s a win, all the way around.”
Also featured in the release is a customizable favicon capability which allows clients to brand the ReACT favicon to their own organizational identity. Doing so provides end users the ability to easily access the ReACT portal software from the home screens of their mobile devices while at the same time ensuring that the experience remains tied to the familiar identity of the client.
