Miami, FL (PRWEB) October 12, 2016 -- Read Conmigo, the award-winning bilingual literacy campaign for children sponsored by Infinity Auto Insurance, is pleased to announce Ms. Ana M. Hernandez as the recipient of the 2016 Bilingual Educator of the Year Award. Ms. Hernandez is currently a K-3 special education teacher at North Twin Lakes Elementary. She was nominated by the parent of one of her former students at Fienburg-Fisher K-8 Center in Miami Beach, FL, for her outstanding engagement with special education students. Read Conmigo will present the award to Ms. Hernandez in a special ceremony during Hispanic Heritage Month on Friday, October 21, 2016.
“Read Conmigo created the Bilingual Educator of the Year Award to acknowledge and honor bilingual teachers that motivate, inspire and guide students on their educational journey,” said Greg Fasking, Vice President of Consumer Marketing. “Ms. Hernandez is an exceptional educator who deserves this award.”
During the contest, parents, students, and school administrators are encouraged to nominate their favorite bilingual teacher for their hard work and dedication. Nominations are submitted through Read Conmigo’s Facebook Page, and participants shared their submissions on social media to collect votes. The award recognizes outstanding educators who have impacted students’ lives both inside and outside of the classroom. This year, the winning teacher will be awarded a cash prize of $200 and a copy of every Read Conmigo book. The nominator will also receive a $50 prize and a copy of every Read Conmigo book. In addition to Ms. Hernandez, Read Conmigo honored two other elementary school educators – one in California and one in Texas.
