Realtor Hope Marie Hooper Joins Big Idea Project, Helping Build Highlands Ranch's Future Leaders
Engelwood, CO (PRWEB) November 22, 2014 -- Local business owners like Realtor, Hope Marie Hooper, are helping the community’s students through Big Idea Project, an organization which focuses on raising up a new generation of leaders who are looking to make a difference.
Hope’s first school she has the pleasure of helping is Valor Christian High School, which will have their first Big Idea Project launch this spring. “As a local business owner, my goal is to bridge the gap between the business community and the classroom. I am calling on the business community to volunteer as mentors and/or to help raise funds to go toward the scholarships,” said Hope Marie Hooper. “The organization is a fantastic way to get kids creatively thinking and working together and we, in the business community, can give back to these kids, by offering our various skill sets and expertise.”
During the Big Idea Project, students team up to identify a need in society and use problem-solving, leadership and team building skills to creatively contribute to the solution. They are given three months to come up with and execute the plan and then present their results to the community for the chance to win a college scholarship. During their three months of planning, the students will look to the volunteer mentors for guidance. Anyone interested in mentoring or contributing, can call Hope directly at (303) 880-1007.
“This is Valor Christian's first year to participate in the Big Idea Project. The Valor Economics Club and the Valor Business & Marketing Club are joining forces to participate in this event. The organization's commitment to developing generous leaders in the community, while fostering a spirit of creativity and entrepreneurship were incredibly attractive to the economics club advisor and I. We are grateful to community leaders like Hope who want to reach out and begin to encourage generous leadership in high school students,” said, Mrs. Reagan Sowa - Business, Marketing, & Entrepreneurship Teacher/Valor Business & Marketing Club Advisor
Hope Marie Hooper is celebrating ten years as a Realtor and as a resident of the area for thirteen years, the mother of two young children and a husband, serving the community as a local firefighter, she has the advantage of knowing the ins and outs of Highlands Ranch’s surrounding communities and schools.
