Rebecca Post Named Communicator of the Year by the FPRA
Port St. Lucie, FL (PRWEB) April 26, 2015 -- Rebecca Post, Vice-President of Business Operations at Post Insurance, is the winner of this year’s Communicator of the Year Award by the Treasure Coast Chapter of the Florida Public Relations Association. Post was selected by a panel of judges in the ‘For-Profit’ category for her outstanding professional accomplishments, leadership development, and community impact.
A native of St. Lucie County, Post began her career in the Florida Governor’s Office of Communications and the Florida House of Representatives while a student at Florida State University. Over the last 20 years, she’s demonstrated outstanding performance in communications, legislative affairs, higher education, and business. "Change happens so rapidly today," says Post. "From coordinating hurricane efforts, to legislative changes, to rolling out new technology, everyday is a new and exciting challenge."
As the Vice-President of Business Operations, her expertise in marketing, strategic planning, disaster planning, management and technology gives this highly reputable insurance agency in St. Lucie West a competitive advantage. "At first glance, insurance and communications might seem worlds away. But the success of every endeavor requires an effective communication strategy to meet the different needs of our many partners," Post says. Her success as a businesswoman and trainer was recognized nationally when she was hand-selected by Nationwide Insurance to serve as a National Training Facilitator to guide other agencies.
When asked about the award, Post says "I'm honored and humbled, but all I really want is to continue making a difference in the lives of others." Among her civic and volunteer efforts, she’s been a mentor to Boys & Girls Club teens for the past 6 years, coaching essay-writing, interviewing, and public speaking. She facilitated a Leadership Academy in Tallahassee for middle school girls emphasizing respect for self, respect for others, self-esteem and body image. In addition to her work at Post Insurance, she is an Adjunct Professor for Indian River State College and offers presentation coaching and leadership development to area professionals. She was recently featured by Florida State University as an outstanding Alumna.
The FPRA Image Awards was held at the Ken Pruitt Campus of Indian River State College and moderated by WPTV Channel 5 Anchor, Jon Shainman.
