Record Heatwave Leads to Increase in Sales of Sun Awnings
(PRWEB UK) 29 July 2013 -- Britain has recently been basking in the biggest heatwave for years, and these record high temperatures have resulted in a significant spike in sun awning sales, according to leading awning specialists Cordula.
Weather experts have calculated that the temperatures in June and July were the hottest for seven years, and this unexpectedly good weather has meant more people spending time in their gardens, and thinking about how to create the perfect relaxing outdoor space. This has led to a huge increase in interest in barbecues, outdoor furniture and especially garden awnings.
Cordula have been supplying awnings for 25 years, and this year has been one of their biggest in terms of sales and enquiries. They stock a variety of awnings from classic Mediterranean-inspired striped designs to more sleek, modern variations.
Awnings are popular during summer because they can enhance the enjoyment of the warm weather – providing some shade during the daytime and ensuring you are shielded from the milder weather during the evening. The latest models come with special features such as light sensitivity, which means they extent automatically when they detect sunlight, then retract once the sun disappears.
Greg Larkin from Cordula said, “It’s been a tremendous summer for our company. Everyone has been keen to make the most of the good weather, and that means dinner parties and evening gatherings out in the garden – great news for awning suppliers like us. After the disappointing summer weather last year, its great to finally get so much wonderful sunshine”
The company has high hopes for the rest of the summer, as we have yet to even reach the traditionally hottest months of the year – August and September. Cordula hope they can continue to capitalise on this, and encourage anyone who is interested in a garden awning to give them a call for advice and information, or visit their website - http://www.cordula.co.uk/.
