Recorded Books Playaway Content Now Available Directly from Findaway
Prince Frederick, MD (PRWEB) June 16, 2015 -- Recorded Books and Findaway announced today that Findaway is now public libraries’ exclusive distributor of Recorded Books content on Findaway’s Playaway pre-loaded audiobook device. This new offering gives Playaway’s public library, school, military and government customers a single location to purchase all of their pre-loaded audiobooks.
Nearly 6,500 Recorded Books audiobook titles have been added to the Findaway catalog. This content includes highly coveted authors such as Stephen King, David McCullough, Jodi Picoult, and Khaled Hosseini, as well as titles such as Frank McCourt’s "Angela’s Ashes," J.R.R. Tolkien’s "The Lord of the Rings" trilogy, and Jeff Kinney’s "Diary of a Wimpy Kid" series. Recorded Books content also brings a sizable number of language-learning and ESL programs, including the acclaimed Pimsleur Language series. In addition, customers will be able to purchase from an expanded selection of fiction in Spanish and other foreign languages.
“We are very excited to be able to share this expanded catalog of audiobooks with our current customers and to continue supporting Recorded Books customers with the industry’s best content,” commented Suzanne Galvez, vice president of content partnerships at Findaway.
In addition to giving Recorded Books customers one source for purchasing Playaways, Findaway will continue to provide marketing support, shelf-ready processing, electronic data interchange (EDI), 9XX grid functionality and MARC records.
“Releasing Recorded Books content to Findaway offers both companies a significant growth opportunity,” remarked Ed Longo, chief operating officer at Recorded Books. “We are enthusiastic about how this will extend the market for our content.”
While this change makes Findaway the sole source of Recorded Books titles in the library channel, pre-K through grade 12 school customers will continue to have the option to purchase through Follett School Solutions, Mackin Educational Resources, Perma-Bound Books, or Findaway directly.
