Recruiters Post 120K Sales Jobs This Week on SellingCrossing.com, Echoing BLS Report
Pasadena, CA (PRWEB) October 27, 2013 -- According to the National Employment Report released by the United States Department of Labor, the economy added 148,000 total nonfarm jobs in September with the addition of 126,000 private-sector jobs, which makes a total of more than 7.6 million new private-sector jobs over the last 43 consecutive months of growth. Over the prior 12 months, employment in temporary-help services continued to trend up by adding more than 20,000 in September. Additionally, according to the data, the retail trade industry showed gains made in building material and garden supply stores, with more than 5,000 jobs added, and automobile dealers added more than 4,000 jobs. SellingCrossing, a job site aggregator featuring domestic and global sales opportunities, echoes the current data with almost a half million job opportunities available on the website.
According to the Occupational Outlook Handbook, sales occupations will continue to increase and expand at an average, or higher than average rate with opportunities existing in Advertising Sales, Retail Sales, Securities, Commodities, and Financial Services Sales Agents, and Wholesale and Manufacturing Sales Representatives. "The increase suggests a trend that will continue with the job market favoring an industry that was initially adversely affected by the contraction in the economy," said Harrison Barnes, Chief Executive Officer of Employment Research Institute, the parent company of SellingCrossing. "The sales industry sector has seen job growth in every major category since the beginning of the year."
Conducting a job type search on SellingCrossing.com showed a significant rise in the number of active sales jobs (440,000) that exist in the following categories: Sales Associate (59,900), Sales Representative (59,700), Sales Manager (44,300), Business Sales (16,400), Insurance Sales (8,700), Software Sales (6,300), Manufacturing Sales (6,600), and Retail Sales (112,000).
This news release also indicates that employment in professional and business services continued to climb by adding more than 32,000 jobs, with employment growth in this industry averaging more than 52,000 per month. “Employers are urgently seeking sales labor, administrative, and management personnel who can fill their active and unfilled positions that are listed on SellingCrossing," said Barnes. "The current data is indicative of the fact that the sales job market will continue to trend upward through the end of 2013 and through 2014."
