Red Oak Opportunity Foundation (ROOF) celebrates 30 years of giving in the East Bay with a big party
El Cerrito, CA (PRWEB) February 17, 2015 -- The Red Oak Opportunity Foundation (ROOF) will mark its 30th anniversary by giving $60,000 to 34 not-for-profits grantees. This also includes a $10,000 cash award to an individual in the East Bay who has made it their life’s work to better their community.
Over the past 30 years, ROOF has donated $1,000,000 to small East Bay non-profits whose work makes our community better. This history of support will be celebrated on Saturday, February 21, 2015 with the "Founders Cocktail Party," a fundraiser to celebrate the Red Oak Realty original owners who started ROOF 30 years ago, as well as a presentation to recognize current grantees.
The event will take place at the Mira Vista Country Club, 7901 Cutting Blvd in El Cerrito, CA and will start at 6pm. Tickets are $75 and 100% of funds support ROOF philanthropy. The grantee award ceremony starts at 7pm and will feature dancing and live music from Little Marvin and the Gardeners. Tickets may be purchased at http://roof30.eventbrite.com.
ABOUT ROOF
ROOF is the philanthropic foundation created by the agents and owners of Red Oak Realty. The primary source of these funds comes from Red Oak Realty agents (100% donate), matched in part by the owners. The remainder comes from an anonymous angel, Red Oak Realty service providers, and its clients -- the buyers and sellers of real estate -- who share their sense of duty to community. Every penny donated goes directly to the recipients, as all administrative expenses are also paid by the owners of Red Oak Realty.
Grants are determined by a rotating committee of owners and agents of Red Oak Realty. The recipients are grassroots groups from our East Bay communities who work tirelessly in the areas of housing, food distribution, health, social services, and education.
