Red Room Burlesque Presents Cult Classic Variety Show
Chicago, IL (PRWEB) November 22, 2013 -- Red Room Burlesque presents “Film Strip: A Picture Show A-Go-Go”, the first in a series of productions at Chicago’s historic Admiral Theatre in Albany Park. The show is a celebration of iconic B-movies featuring burlesque, drag and variety performances.
The production features performances by independent film writer/producer/director Lloyd Kaufman, who brought us “The Toxic Avenger” and “Tromeo and Juliet”, “Showgirls and “Penny’s from Heaven” star Rena Riffel; burlesque performer and fetish model Masuimi Max, and world renowned drag queen, Peaches Christ (performing Rocky Horror style cabaret).
The high level of production in this ribald revue is reminiscent of the vaudeville acts the theater was known for when they opened their doors in 1927. The classic theatre provides an historic setting for a bawdy throwback performance on its original stage.
