Redefining Ready! National Scholarship Winners Announced
ARLINGTON, Va. (PRWEB) June 19, 2018 -- Hobsons, the education technology leader and company behind Naviance, and AASA, The School Superintendents Association, are pleased to announce the Redefining Ready! National Scholarship winners. The 15 student honorees were selected after submitting a 30-second social media video telling the world why they are college, career, and life ready.
Announced in February at AASA’s National Conference on Education, the social-media based competition was created to provide students with the opportunity to share how they are college, career, and life ready beyond a single test score.
Students were asked to post a 30-second video on YouTube and share it on Twitter by using the hashtag #RedefiningReady and tagging @AASAHQ and @Hobsons. Students used phones, iPads, or video cameras to film the videos and were judged on compelling content.
The winners are listed below and their video submissions can be viewed here. Regional winners are based on areas of the country representing AASA’s Governing Board.

“It was a pleasure viewing the many stories from students who used cutting-edge technology to tell what they expect life to be beyond high school. I was very much impressed by their creative minds,” said Daniel A. Domenech, executive director, AASA.

Redefining Ready! uses various metrics, including success in Advanced Placement or dual credit classes, completion of internships or industry certifications and co-curricular participation, to better assess students' potential for postsecondary success.
