Redzone Wireless Receives FCC Approval of Nationwide 3.65 GHz Spectrum Access License

Redzone Wireless, LLC, a Maine-based 5G wireless broadband innovation company, announces that it has received FCC approval and confirmation of it's nationwide license to operate fixed wireless broadband network assets in the 3.65 – 3.7 GHz licensed spectrum band.

Spectrum in the mid and upper 3 GHz range is widely recognized for its suitability for both mobile & fixed wireless broadband applications, and is slated to become one of the first bands to be apportioned for shared commercial use. Numerous cable operators, wireline telcos and mobile carriers have publically announced plans to develop wireless networks using the 3.5 GHz CBRS band based on emerging spectrum sharing technology.

"The addition of a 50 MHz channel at 3.65 GHz increases the capabilities and demonstrates the spectrum-adaptive nature of Redzone's 5GX platform," said Jim McKenna, President Redzone Wireless, LLC.  "While we recognize regulatory uncertainties and intense competition for spectrum access in the upper portion of the 3 GHz band, Redzone maintains its commitment to driving multi-spectrum convergence to deliver on the promise of affordable next generation 5Gx gigabit broadband access."

Redzone's 5Gx maximizes both coverage, and capacity by operating across multiple frequency bands.  Higher frequencies, such as millimeter & unlicensed 5 GHz, provide 100 Mbps to 1Gbps speeds to line-of-sight customers. Mid-band LTE service, operating on licensed 3.65 GHz provides increased capacity at near-line-of-sight distances, while Redzone's high power LTE, operating on licensed 2.5 GHz provide deep coverage into highly foliated environments.  This multi-spectrum approach maximizes the number of subscribers that can be served from each Redzone tower location, resulting in higher operating margin, and greater return on investment.

"Redzone continues to the lead the market in fixed wireless broadband technology innovation with 5GX, and our expanded platform incorporating the mid-3 GHz spectrum band has the potential to enhance the way people across the US access broadband." said Michael Forcillo, Redzone Wireless, LLC Executive Vice President. "And as the regulatory environment and competitive landscape evolves for the 3.5 CBRS band, Redzone fully intends to secure and utilize additional spectrum assets which become commercially available through this process."

Redzone Wireless, LLC, established in 2014, has developed, deployed and branded a new carrier grade fixed wireless broadband network standard. The company's "first in the nation" 5GX advanced multi-spectrum fixed wireless network aggregates 60 GHz millimeter wave spectrum with FCC licensed mid band spectrum at 2.5 GHz & 3.65 GHz, and unlicensed 5 GHz spectrum on a proprietary operational support system.  Redzone is expanding its 5GX wireless broadband network in underserved areas of Maine, with plans to expand across the US. 5GX fixed wireless provides an economically viable, premium broadband service alternative to wireline, fiber, or cable.
