Reliance Foundry Launches "Pedals for Professionals" Contest
Vancouver, BC (PRWEB) April 17, 2014 -- Reliance Foundry Co. Ltd., North America’s premier supplier of bollards, bike racks, and custom castings, introduced a new initiative today aimed at encouraging cycling as form of commuting – the Pedals for Professionals Contest. The contest will coincide with Bike to Work Week and will award $5,000 in bicycle gear to the winning participant. It asks business professionals to submit a presentation that describes how cycling to work has improved their life and what cycling equipment would best help them, their coworkers or their employees in their endeavors. Reliance Foundry will purchase the winning participant’s gear-of-choice and pay for its shipping directly to their location. Presentations can take a number of different forms and are not restricted to standard written content; images, infographics and videos will also be accepted. The contest will conclude on May 16, 2014, National Bike to Work Day, at which point, the winner will be announced.
“We’re proud to be hosting the Pedals for Professionals Contest,” said Brent Done, President and Controller at Reliance Foundry. “We think it is a positive step towards supporting cyclists and encouraging biking, a healthy and environmentally-conscious form of commuting.”
The Pedals for Professionals Contest is open to all full time employees, of all companies, who are over eighteen years of age. Participants can feel free to tell their story in whatever manner they see fit. There are no limits on the maximum or minimum amount of words. In fact, entries do not even have to be submitted in standard written form. Reliance Foundry is looking for the presentation that most effectively communicates the experience of cycling commuters and if video or imagery more effectively conveys a participant’s message, presentations can be submitted solely in these forms. Adding rich media (infographics, videos, imagery) will all contribute favorably to the submission’s judging. Participants can submit entries via email or if they have their own blog or social media platform, they can simply send a link to where the bike commuting story is located. Submissions can also be posted directly to Reliance Foundry’s Pedals for Professionals Contest Page on LinkedIn. Winners will be selected based on the creativity shown in their presentation and the overall usefulness of the submission. Ideally, the winning submission would help to inspire to others who may be considering participating in Bike to Work Week.
“Bike to Work Week is an initiative that we are passionate about, at Reliance Foundry,” said Product Manager, Len Cranmore. “We’re hoping this contest may serve as an incentive to people that may be considering riding their bikes to work this spring or summer.”
Stories can be submitted via email to marketing(at)reliance-foundry(dot)com. Submissions should also include the details of the biking gear that the participant would like to win; Reliance Foundry will purchase the selected equipment (up to a maximum of $5,000 MAX VALUE) and have it shipped directly to the winner. Entries will be accepted until May 14, 2014 and only one entry per person or company is permitted.
