Tacoma, WA (PRWEB) April 26, 2016 -- Relief Bed international (RBI) is proud to have reached its first major milestone by donating and distributing more than 1,500 Relief Beds® to homeless organizations in North America and through international relief effort partners.
To date RBI has focused the majority of its efforts with homeless organizations on the west coast near its headquarters in Tacoma, WA. Most recently RBI donated 24 beds through a partnership with Sleep Smart, a Seattle mattress retailer, to Seattle's Union Gospel Mission.
“Seattle’s Union Gospel Mission could not meet the needs of the hurting and homeless without the partnership and support of companies like Relief Bed International," stated Scott Swansen with Seattle’s Union Gospel Mission. Scott Smalling understands the importance of helping our community in need and continues to bless the men, women and children we serve. Scott’s recent donation of 24 Relief Beds to The Mission was given directly to one of Seattle’s newly established youth shelters called New Horizons.
"Tonight, and many nights to come, the growing number of young people on Seattle’s streets will have a safe and comfortable place to sleep,” said Swansen.
To help fund RBI's mission they have created a “Buy One, Change a Life™” campaign. This program is off to a great start and is being offered in various channels. Online, through RBI's corporate website, at mattress retail and Outdoor retail stores. Depending on the program, the consumer can be confident when they purchase a participating product they will be providing the gift of a better night’s sleep to someone in need.
The main Relief Bed® model is a self-inflating, all weather, highly portable, air and foam bed. RBI has an exclusive manufacturing agreement with the world renown Thermarest Company on this model due primarily to the addition of the self-inflating pillow. While this model is the workhorse for RBI they have recently added a Tri-Fold Relief Bed model for indoor use in shelters and a Twin Size 6” mattress for use in longer term facilities.
“We wanted to make sure we could meet all of the needs of our 'Partners in Hope' as we go forward," said Scott Smalling RBI Founder.
US Tour
Relief Bed International recently announced they were hitting the road with a 70’ long truck and trailer fully wrapped in its “message of hope” to provide awareness, education and support for better sleep. The tour will officially kick off at the end of May this year and go through Thanksgiving. RBI will make scheduled stops at homeless shelters, retail partners, and public & private events along its route. RBI is seeking sponsors to help fund the 5,000 beds they hope to donate during the tour.
“We are excited to provide hope to many who are suffering from poor sleep. Whether it is due to the lack of education around proper sleep habits or because they don’t have a decent bed to sleep on,” said Smalling.
