Renown Environmental Engineering Firm, Terra-Petra, Approved as Provider for AIA Continuing Education System
Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) July 25, 2014 -- As a part of its provider network, environmental engineering firm, Terra-Petra, will now offer quality continuing education services to American Institute of Architects (or AIA) members and other design professionals. Terra-Petra will serve as a regional provider for the AIA Continuing Education System (CES), with authorization to provide face-to-face learning courses both nationally and internationally.
AIA members and other architects licensed in states with mandatory continuing education requirements for license renewal are required to complete a minimum of 18 learning units per year. Of these 18 units, 12 must be within a Health, Safety, and Welfare (HSW)-related category. Terra-Petra‘s first approved course entitled, “Vapor Intrusion and Engineering Control Trends,” falls within the HSW category.
The Vapor Intrusion and Engineering Control Trends course focuses on the sources and causes of vapor intrusion and the dangers it can pose to future building inhabitants. It elaborates on trending vapor intrusion engineering mitigation methods which allow for practical, sustainable solutions to this environmental hazard that is inherent in many construction development projects. With four vapor intrusion-related learning objectives, the course aims at fulfilling the AIA’s mission to support AIA members in mastering new knowledge and skills to meet new trends in the profession.
As an expert in all things vapor intrusion, Terra-Petra’s Vice President and General Manager, Justin Conaway, will be responsible for presenting the course. Terra-Petra is happy to be able to offer its first course to assist architects in achieving their continuing education requirements.
AIA members and other architects interested in a presentation of the course, may contact Justin Conaway at Terra-Petra's Los Angeles Office: 1.213.458.0494 or 1.888.540.5703.
