Renowned Artist, Peter Brandes, Oversees Installation of First of Four 25-Foot Stained Glass Windows at Cornerstone University
Grand Rapids, Michigan (PRWEB) February 06, 2015 -- The North facing window in bright yellows depicting "light and joy" will be the first of four beautiful stained glass windows installed in Cornerstone's Christ Chapel at 8 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 7.
Under the direction of renowned artist Peter Brandes, a native of Denmark, each piece will be delicately placed into the window frame of the $15 million dollar chapel.
Each glass window is 25-foot tall by 17-foot wide, created uniquely on campus by Brandes. The windows, a gift from multiple donors, cost $1.2 million.
"The windows are positioned up so high that they will capture the light perfectly," said Brandes.
The window to be installed depicts Christ on the cross with his right arm falling down to his side in expectation of his descent from the cross. The apostles are shown in three corners of each window.
