Renowned Business Owner and Auto Enthusiast Bruce Meyer Joins The Henry Ford Board of Trustees
Dearborn, Mich. (PRWEB) September 13, 2016 -- West Coast native Bruce Meyer, a business owner and nationally-renowned auto enthusiast and collector was elected to serve a three-year term as a member of the Board of Trustees at The Henry Ford.

A successful businessman in both luxury retail and real estate, Meyer owned GEARYS Beverly Hills, a high-end retailer specializing in luxury gifts. A well-known fixture in the city of Beverly Hills, GEARYS gained national awareness through its successful mail-order business under Meyer’s leadership. Still in the family, his nephew now owns and presides over the family’s business.
Meyer started his award-winning and nationally-recognized automobile collection in 1964 with the purchase of a 1955 Mercedes Benz 300SL Gullwing. His stunning collection comprises vintage vehicles and motorcycles, and change-makers in racing from the 24 Hours of Le Mans to the Bonneville Salt Flats.
An enthusiast to the core, Meyer has also participated in the most important rallies and races around the world, including the French Tour Auto, the Italian Mille Miglia, the Goodwood Festival of Speed in England and Speed Week at the Bonneville Salt Flats in the United States where he set a land speed record and became a lifetime member of the 200 MPH Club.
The founding chairman of the Peterson Automobile Museum in Los Angeles, California, Meyer continues to serve as that museum’s vice-chairman. He also serves on the Board of Directors of the Mullin Automotive Museum, the Nethercutt Collection and the Steering Committee for the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance, as well as the Le May Museum in Tacoma, Washington. He is a founding member of the board and past president of the California Highway Patrol’s 11-99 Foundation where he continues to actively serve as treasurer.
Meyer has won the Lee Iacocca Award for his dedication to American automotive tradition, the Meguiar’s Award for Collector Car Person of the Year, and the Automotive Icon Award by the Petersen Museum. He has been inducted into three different Automotive Hall of Fames for his dedication to promoting awareness and recognition of American hot rodding.
