Renowned Psychotherapist Releases the Power in Passion: 5 Tools to Ignite Passion in 2015
New York, NY (PRWEB) December 30, 2014 -- Possess passion to ignite the New Year with purpose and personal power. Aim for a life of passion to entice inner tenacity and constancy. Optimum functioning is affected by the ability to commit to and act on following through with a targeted goal. Edy Nathan MA, LCSW suggests, “Forget committing to your New Year’s resolutions. When passion is kindled, the fire illuminates the needed path.”
Each tool builds and inspires passion.
Create and fuel passion with the following 5 tools:
1. “If you want passion, define the purpose,” Nathan states. She believes that it is vital to the creation of passion to have an internal conversation that delineates the objectives, the advantages and the intentions of the vision. Remember past passions and what purpose they served.
2. Create a vision list. Each vision aligns with the purpose. Hatch an idea, give birth to it by imagining it from beginning to end. Be specific as it is in the mind’s eye, and the mind can take many forms when creating a vision. If one vision is tried and does not illicit passion, try another. Vision focused passion takes practice. As the famous artist, Pablo Picasso, said: “Go and do the things you can't. That is how you get to do them.”
3. Implement the vision by focusing on the detail needed to transform the vision into action. Be attentive to any obstacles that will get in the way of the vision. Be conscious of who needs to be enlisted in the vision, who has a similar vision and how this vision is diverges from others.
4. Get rid of the negative cognitions by countering with positive cognitions through erasing and reconfiguring. To find examples of negative and positive cognitions, please visit here. Nathan states, “Negative cognitions shut down the possibility for passion. If someone is attached to a negative thought as it pertains to the vision, it is imperative to change the negativity by challenging and replacing it with a positive cognition. It is possible to change how the brain communicates to you by erasing the negative and bringing in the positive.”
5. Act. Don’t let fear get in the way of passion ignition. Passion may not knock on the door, text or Snapchat; it may be found to be profound.
With the New Year approaching, it is time to take steps that foster an internal aliveness. Passion is a pursuit. Passion is a gift to the self. Light the fire to passion by remembering past passions and keep the flame lit.
