Diversity & Inclusion Study
Diversity and inclusion (D&I) is a challenge for most organizations. What is surprising is just how dire the situation has become for many companies. The good news is that a large percentage of companies, 49%, are taking steps to actively create a formal D&I program to help address some of these issues. The first step for many companies is properly assessing their own shortcomings in D&I, and then properly addressing those failings so a successful program can be built. Brandon Hall Group's Diversity and Inclusion 2016 survey helps these companies to do just that: benchmark against other organizations in similar situations, and show how top-performing companies are creating meaningful D&I programs and using those programs to create business value. Survey highlights include: 
• 47% of respondents believed their company was excellent at promoting diversity and inclusion
• The number one barrier to successful D&I implementation for most organizations (61%) was cultural resistance
• 37% of organizations say they are "very dissatisfied" with the results of their current D&I program

The online survey gathered 370 responses representing individuals from both the United States and abroad, in more than 25 different industries. The data was collected in August 2016.

Employee Engagement
Brandon Hall Group's 2016 Engagement Practices Study provides an in-depth understanding of organizations' commitment to employee engagement; the extent to which key employee segments participate in engagement activities; best practices; the value of practices/activities to engagement; the impact of rewards and recognition technology on key performance metrics, such as productivity; desired capabilities for a rewards and recognition provider; and budget trends. 

Three of the key findings for this survey are: 
• 67% of organizations surveyed consider engagement a strategic priority; 20% indicate it is conducted on an ad hoc basis; and 9% plan to make it a priority in the near future.
• The five activities most reported as highly valuable to employee engagement efforts are: employee surveys (52%), compensation/bonus programs (41%), coaching and mentoring (40%), career development paths (39%), and formal employee recognition programs (39%).
• The majority feel that their rewards and recognition technology solution positively impacted employee engagement (80%), employee performance (75%), customer satisfaction (74%), employee retention (72%), employer brand reputation or Employee Value Proposition (72%), and employee productivity (70%).

This data comes from a survey of HR, Talent Management and business leaders and practitioners from June through August 2016. There were 285 total respondents. Responses represent business, HR, talent acquisition, and learning professionals from organizations headquartered in 30 different countries across a wide variety of industries.
