Respiratory Therapy Is Featured on "Front Page Profile", Hosted by James Earl Jones for Public Television
(PRWEB) October 19, 2016 -- Respiratory therapy is a specialized part of medicine that deals with the treatment of people with a number of diseases that afflict the lungs and thus affect breathing. The diseases include lung cancer, COPD, asthma, various cardiovascular ailments, and cystic fibrosis. Respiratory therapy involves maintaining patients whose conditions are chronic, either in a hospital setting or on an outpatient basis. Therapies can include medication, surgical procedures, and the use of assisted breathing devices. A new piece is being developed by the "Front Page" team, with host James Earl Jones, to address this sector of medicine.
The technology for respiratory care is advancing steadily. Increasingly, people with respiratory ailments are able to live independent lives at home, taking care of their conditions, helped by the occasional visit of a respiratory therapist who can educate them in the techniques of self-care.
Often respiratory therapy can result in the improvement of various breathing conditions, allowing people to live longer and healthier lives.
“Front Page Profile,” with host James Earl Jones, is a continuing series made for the exclusive use of Public Television and is delivered to many PBS Public Television Member Stations. The documentary production is the result of efforts by an award-winning team consisting of producers, writers, and videographers.
