Revelation Software Concepts Announces Rev-Trac 7

Rev-Trac 7’s reorganized web UI has an updated look and feel throughout, and consolidates many capabilities introduced previously as add-ons. In addition, the new web UI provides both browser access and mobile approval components, a huge benefit to customers preferring web access. And, the new UI adapts its display to the screen requirements of the particular device in use, whether a desktop, laptop, or mobile device.
The new HTML-based single point of remote entry utilizes the RSC Core VM to provide authorized users with secure access from any web-capable device. It also facilitates such remote capabilities as mobile change approvals, change request documentation and reporting.
Beyond the enhanced user interface, key features of the Rev-Trac 7 Phase 1 roll-out include:
Mobile Access - CIOs and authorized managers can now access Rev-Trac on their phones or tablets, allowing them to securely monitor system changes or provide migration approvals remotely.
Release Management – The procedure to attach a new change to a change request as part of a release has been simplified from up to 11 clicks or transactions to as few as 2 clicks. For the person responsible for release management, the process takes up to 80% less time.
Release Preparation – Preparing related changes for a Release has always taken a lot of manual work. Rev-Trac 7 automates this process by formally introducing the concept of a Rev-Trac Release, under which types of requests with specified attributes are treated in specified ways. The new Rev-Trac Request Type determines what changes a release can hold and greatly simplifies preparation.
Release Workbench – Rev-Trac 7’s new Release Workbench utility provides drag and drop functionality that displays the Rev-Trac requests on the left side and all the applicable changes on the right. You can select a change request like a file and drop it onto the release, like a folder. When you save changes, Rev Trac dynamically creates a reference link, eliminating manual steps. Rev-Trac 7 then synchronizes transports so any on a change are copied into the release. The process works bi-directionally, so you can remove a change from its release for any reason.
The Release Workbench is integrated into the existing Rev-Trac change transport workbench. This lets you drill down by selecting one or more changes and then displaying details. You can also perform a Rev-Trac OOPS check directly from the Release Workbench.
