Revolutionary Interface for Music Composition and Performance to be Launched at DJ Expo
Atlantic City, NJ (PRWEB) July 26, 2013 -- nu desine, a British tech company will be showcasing the AlphaSphere at DJ Expo at the Trump Taj Mahal in Atlantic City, New Jersey, August 12-15, 2013.
A team of musicians, engineers and designers have come together to develop an instrument used to control computer-based music in a revolutionary way.
The product is called the AlphaSphere - a name which inventor Adam Place coined from the term ‘an alphabet of sound’ to describe the product’s library of potential intonations. Its strength however, lies in the expressive capability of an instrument designed for its medium.
"The key on a keyboard was originally designed for an Organ and around the acoustic properties of the design.” He says, “with electronic music we are not constrained to designing around acoustics. Therefore, ergonomics can take precedence. The AlphaSphere has been designed to fit between your hands and each pad size is based on this."
The AlphaSphere’s design is made up of 48 pressure sensitive pads that are wrapped around a modular spherical structure. nu desine has applied parameters to the pad-depths such as MIDI CC data, aftertouch, and pitch-bend to create greater degrees of control for composing and performing of electronic music.
This is part of a new paradigm in electronic music production which sees producers moving away from computers and towards hardware controllers.
The AlphaSphere elite series launched this Spring, and is currently being shipped to customers all around the world. nu desine are preparing to launch the AlphaSphere nexus, which will be available in stores across the USA and Japan this August.
The AlphaSphere will be available for viewing and demonstrations at Chauvet’s booth at the DJ Expo.
