RF Technologies® Releases Software Update for Wireless Staff Duress and Asset Management Solutions
Brookfield, Wis. (PRWEB) April 16, 2015 -- RF Technologies®, a leading provider of active radio frequency identification (RFID) safety and security solutions, has released PinPoint® 2.2, the latest version of its software, offering enhanced design and usability and several new feature sets. The software upgrade will assist in serving critical safety and security needs for healthcare, education and hospitality industries.
PinPoint utilizes real-time locating system (RTLS) technology to provide location utilizing customers’ existing Wi-Fi infrastructure. Version 2.2 will enhance Help Alert® Wireless Staff Duress and ExacTrack® Asset Management Solutions, provide priority-based alerts, universal device access through all current web browsers, iOS apps and a simple desktop application.
“We have made quite a number of enhancements to our PinPoint software in our ongoing efforts to respond to our customers’ increasingly complex environments,” said Mark Gallant, Sr. Director Marketing and Product Management. “We want to ensure that our healthcare, education and hospitality customers receive the most innovative and most efficient release possible and Version 2.2 is a prime example of that.”
New features/benefits of Version 2.2 include:
• Location based video display with alerts and alarms
The new real-time location video feature dramatically enhances situational awareness for local response teams and first responders. The new capability easily integrates to a site’s IP cameras or Video Management Systems (VMS). Users have a real-time view of the four closest cameras to determine the optimal response required for an occurring situation, along with the precise location on their site map.
• Upgrades to server performance, including dual-server capability
Optimal real-time location positioning and alert response is further enhanced with Virtual Machine (VM) and V1 of the dual server implementation options. Sites can select several deployment options to easily optimize the implementation for its specific use cases.
• Enhancements to user interface and dashboards
The new version incorporates upgrades to provide optimal role-based visualization of critical information, enhanced workflow efficiencies with minimal mouse clicks and many customer requests including map rendering and location displays.
“The increased performance and deployment options support our customers’ latest IT requirements,” Gallant said. “Providing role-based visualization, along with efficiencies in usage, has also been a focus of this software release.”
Help Alert uses discreet mobile panic buttons, or pendants, as a proactive, cost-effective solution to protect staff, patients, teachers, students, and guests. When pressed, pendants broadcast a silent alarm that can be configured to alert security teams, first responders, or local police through a computer or mobile device.
With ExacTrack, small tags are attached to valuable mobile assets, such as medical equipment or shared resources. Each tag is assigned a unique code, so system users can easily locate assets and review their status, helping save time and increase productivity.
