Rhoran Productions Launches Ambitious Crowdfunding Campaign
Lake Villa, IL (PRWEB) May 08, 2014 -- Chicago film production startup, Rhoran Productions, has launched an ambitious IndieGoGo campaign for an action/comedy feature film written and directed by Chicago native Paul Latza, called My Date With A Secret Agent, to be filmed in Lake and Cook County this summer. With a goal of $700,000, Paul seeks to change the way big entertainment is produced and distributed throughout the world. The campaign can be found at http://igg.me/at/MDWASA.
The movie is about Tom, the tech expert at the top secret agency, Vidar. Tom is attracted to the top field agent, Laura, but he does not know how to approach her. One day, a mutual friend sets Tom and Laura up on a date. Things go well, until Vidar and all its allied facilities are destroyed by Dr. Rhodium. Rhodium demands that Laura give herself up to him, or the world will suffer the consequences. Now, Tom and Laura must team up to save the world before it's too late!
Chicago-based actor, Doug Walker, best known for his online series, The Nostalgia Critic, has signed onto the movie. The Nostalgia Critic is a very popular online video series with over 15 million views and hundreds of thousands of loyal fans. John de Lancie, best known as Q from Star Trek: The Next Generation, as well as giving a critically acclaimed performance in Breaking Bad, is also in line for a role, provided the IndieGoGo is successful.
Paul is a graduate from Columbia College Chicago with a degree in Film/Video Editing, and has a large catalog of shorts and other videos under his belt. A comedy short he worked on about NPR pledge time appeared on the Chicago Tribune website. My Date With A Secret Agent is inspired by other successful internet projects such as Joss Whedon’s Dr. Horrible, and Freddie Wong’s Video Game High School, both of which were independently funded and released directly to the world online.
The campaign can be found at http://igg.me/at/MDWASA, and runs until June 19th. Paul encourages everyone to donate and spread the word.
