Richard Byrne, an Educator and Recognized Education Technology Industry Thought Leader, joins the MindRocket Media Group
Washington, DC (PRWEB) June 29, 2015 -- Today Richard Byrne, a recognized educator and industry leader in educational technology, announced that he will be joining the leadership team at the MindRocket Media Group. As an educator and managing editor of Free Technology for Teachers, iPadApps4School.com and PracticalEdTech.com. Richard’s insights on educational technology reach over 1 Million educators monthly or 60,000 educators daily.
“I taught for eight and a half years at Oxford Hills Comprehensive High School in South Paris, ME. During that time I piloted a 1:1 program and coordinated a laptop squad to support teachers' use of laptops in their classrooms. It became clear to me that other teachers needed assistance across all facets of technology,” said Richard. “I started journaling my own efforts and from there began exploring and discovering new technologies to understand how they also might be used in the classroom.”
Over the last eight years as an educator and thought leader Richard has reviewed over 10,000 EdTech products working directly with companies and providing teachers with tactical insights and best practices for using resources in the classroom. He has been invited to speak at events all over North America, Europe, Australia, Southeast Asia, and the Middle East. His work is focused on sharing free web-based resources that educators can use to enhance their students’ learning experiences.
He is a five-time winner of the Edublogs Award for Best Resource Sharing Blog and has received recognition from the Chancellor's Office of California State University (2012) and the Association of Computer Teachers & Educators of Maine (2010) for his work in educational technology. He is a Google Certified Teacher who is continuously asked to come to schools to offer training and insight on the use of Google Apps and a wealth of other EdTech products.
“I am so excited to be joining the MindRocket Media team in a leadership position,” said Richard. “My goal is to continue to provide free resources to teachers, while helping providers of educational technologies, with keen insights, on how to best orient new capabilities for the classroom. By combining my efforts with MindRocket Media Group’s production capabilities I hope to provide even greater insights to the industry.”
MindRocket Media Group will add Free Technology for Teachers, iPadApps4School.com and PracticalEdTech.com to its current portfolio including EdCircuit | Powering a Global Education Conversation.
