Richard Thieme, Art of Escape and More at InfoSec Southwest This Year in Austin, TX
Austin, TX (PRWEB) February 22, 2015 -- Richard Thieme, former Episcopal priest and technology and culture commentator will be delivering the keynote at InfoSec Southwest, an information security conference, on April 10-12, 2015. Rift Recon’s urban survival training “Art of Escape,” and sessions in metasploit and in cloud security will be offered in the weeks leading up to the conference.
“Learn to be mindful and vigilant in a broken world that will never be completely fixed, navigating and even thriving in a messy world.” Thieme says of his keynote, "Too Much for Anyone to Know." In his speech, he will share strategies on how to survive during war, "cyber-mayhem," and spy games that affect the information security industry.
InfoSec Southwest (http://2015.infosecsouthwest.com) addresses a broad spectrum of information security related topics, including offensive and defensive strategies and political, social and cultural changes that affect the industry. The conference, sponsored currently by Amazon, TALOS, Exodus Intelligence, American Information Security Group, Trammell Ventures, and others also includes multiple competitions, including a participant-sourced network Capture the Flag tournament, a Saturday night pub crawl scavenger hunt, and several other competitions.
In addition to the conference, InfoSec Southwest will be hosting training in the week leading up to the conference including Art of Escape, a three-day intensive urban survival training by physical security experts teaching skills such as how to pick, bypass, and open locks; open various restraints; as well as utilize social engineering to get help where there otherwise would be none. Other training includes Cloud Computing Security Knowledge (CCSK) Foundation and Plus courses and Metasploit Mastery by Rob "Mubix" Fuller and James "egypt" Lee.
During lunches, participants get a chance to speak, first come, first serve at the Open Forum Turbo Talks at the Alamo Drafthouse Ritz.
