Rinaldo Law Group was Featured on Tampa Bay’s Morning Blend to Discuss the Dangers of Distracted Driving and to Provide Tips on How to Avoid It
Tampa, Florida (PRWEB) September 05, 2017 -- On Tuesday, August 29th at 10:00 a.m., Catherine Rinaldo, founding partner of Rinaldo Law Group, a local personal injury law firm, was featured on ABC Action News' Tampa Bay’s Morning Blend to discuss the dangers of driving distractedly and to provide various tips to avoid doing it.
After working with personal injury law for over 30 years, Rinaldo has seen an increase in the use of cellphones in regards to car accidents. Consequentially, this has impacted the way she has to manage her clients’ cases.
"25% of [accidents] involve the use of a cellphone," said Rinaldo. "Now, these last ten years, a big, big part of our case is finding out [if] the person [was] on their cellphone, and how [that] impact[ed] the crash."
After seeing these cases becoming common in her office, Rinaldo knew she needed to get involved in the community to change the matter. After presentations in schools, Rinaldo found that students' families were not discussing distracted driving. To help with this issue, Rinaldo decided to create a family pledge to help families talk about distracted driving.
"What we found out is that the families aren’t having conversations amongst themselves," said Rinaldo. "This family pledge will help get the conversation going so they know the best practices when driving."
At the end of the segment, Rinaldo offered to provide a family pledge and a phone card sleeve for those that called her office and requested it.
"At the end of the program...we give them this cellphone sleeve," said Rinaldo. "It's a reminder to them not to use their cellphone while they're driving."
