Rittenhouse Introduces New & Improved Spreader Impellers – Designed and Manufactured in Canada
St. Catharines, Ontario (PRWEB) March 13, 2015 -- Rittenhouse is proud to introduce two brand new spreader impellers that have been design and manufactured exclusively for them right here in Canada. The impellers are intended for Lesco, Cub Cadet, and various other fertilizer spreaders, including ride-on models as a replacement part or upgrade.
Two of the most common issues that arise with factory impellers are wear and product sticking to the impeller itself. Wearing of the centre hole of the impeller can result in the impeller “wobbling” as it spins, thus creating an uneven spread pattern where product is concentrated in one area of the spreader path, but not another. As a result, uneven turf growth can occur, creating an unsightly lawn. By improving the quality of the plastic used to produce the impeller Rittenhouse has successfully created an impeller that is more resistant to wear. This means a more consistent and even spread pattern and an increased lifespan of the impeller. “Listening to people in the industry, this is one of the problems that will come up on a regular basis. We’ve developed a superior product that is more resistant to wear and delivers better, more consistent results over the lifetime of the impeller,” says Rittenhouse company president Mark Rittenhouse. To reduce product sticking to the impeller Rittenhouse has added an angled gusset for the entire length where the fins and plate of the impeller connect, which eliminates the 90 degree joint where product was prone to buildup. In addition to gussets, Rittenhouse also created an upgraded impeller made from Teflon infused plastic. Teflon has excellent shedding properties and further reduces product sticking to the impeller, “Savvy landscapers have taken to waxing their impellers to reduce product sticking. By gusseting the joint between the fin and plate we were able to reduce the problem; and by offering an upgraded model made from Teflon infused plastic we have been able to eliminate the need for waxing completely,” remarks Rittenhouse.
Although these two changes may seem small, they offer a huge improvement over what professional landscapers currently have access to. Spreader impellers that have a longer life, are designed with product saving features in mind, and deliver better results mean happier customers and improved revenue, something any professional can appreciate.
