River Runners to Offer Colorado Whitewater Rafting Trips Through Labor Day
Buena Vista, CO (PRWEB) July 31, 2013 -- River Runners, a Colorado whitewater rafting company with two locations on the Arkansas River near Browns Canyon and the Royal Gorge, announced it will remain open daily through September 2, 2013.
The summer monsoon season has provided a much-needed boost in flows on the Arkansas River, which should provide great rafting through late summer, according to Travis Hochard, operations manager, River Runners.
“Recent rain showers have helped keep the river up through July and we expect that to continue through August,” Hochard said. “Currently, the Arkansas River has two times the water it did last year at this time.”
More water means bigger splashes for rafters on all sections of the Arkansas River, according to Hochard.
“The Arkansas River has been at moderate flows, which provides fun and splashy whitewater for first-time rafters or thrill-seekers, depending on what section you run,” Hochard explained.
River Runners is offering 25 percent off full-day rafting trips every Monday through Thursday for the rest of the season, according to Eileen Peterson, general manager at River Runners.
“This is the best Colorado rafting deal out there,” Peterson said. “Full-day rafting trips offer the most memorable river experience and include a catered riverside lunch.”
Labor Day weekend is always popular for rafting and is already filling up, according to Peterson.
“August 31 is already booked for rafting the Royal Gorge, but we still have space available in other sections like Browns Canyon,” Peterson explained. “You can still book Royal Gorge rafting trips for the Friday and Sunday of Labor Day weekend, but space is limited.”
River Runners has been offering guided whitewater rafting trips on Colorado’s Arkansas River since 1972. Choose from half-day, full-day and overnight raft trips on beginner, intermediate and advanced whitewater. Call 800-723-8987 or go online to book your family adventure today.
