Riverbend Chiropractors, AlignLife of Wood River, Start a Community Garden
Wood River, IL (PRWEB) June 06, 2014 -- Dr. Mike & Dr. Tina of AlignLife Wood River decided to start a movement in their community. As part of their Charter Membership to Health Missions they decided to start a community garden to help raise awareness for Health Missions, while providing the community with good wholesome free vegetables.
It all started when the Harbisons were going to plant a garden at their home, but then realized their efforts would benefit more people if they were to plant a garden in the front of their office at 203 East Ferguson Avenue to give back to the community. The office is located at the corner of Second St. and Ferguson in downtown Wood River right where there is a bus stop. Hence, the reason why they believe they can impact more people with the vegetable garden in the front of their office. "We're really excited to see the kids this summer playing and eating out of the garden. Our son Hewitt gets so excited to see the veggies growing and we hope other kids will too," says Dr. Mike & Dr. Tina Harbison. Their dream is to be able to have these free community vegetable gardens all over the Riverbend area, but for now, they are happy to even have their small area at the corner of Second and Ferguson to start. "If even just a few people find joy and benefit from our little garden, then it is worth all the labor we put into it."
The vegetables are free to not just patients, but any and all patrons are welcome to pick the vegetables off as they please. There is no charge, however there will be a donation box for anyone who wants to give to Health Missions.
