RKNet Studio Releases Intelligence Game 21 Word Play, a Genre-Bending Word Game that Challenges Scrabble Players
Middletown, NJ (PRWEB) July 30, 2013 -- Anant Goel, Developer at RKNet stated: “Intelligence game 21 Word Play is unique in the mobile games market─ a two-player word game that requires speed, sharp thinking, and vocabulary and language skills. It is both an engaging brain workout that helps develop language skills, and a way to connect with friends for short bouts of Anagram wordplay. Unlike many word games, however, users don't need to be spelling bee champions to enjoy the competition.”
"21 Word Play is a social game, as well as an addicting word game," notes RKNet CEO Anant Goel. "Word game lovers enjoy connecting with their friends; and playing a mobile game doesn't have to be a solitary pursuit. Word Play defies the conventional idea of word games; a unique combination of social, challenging, and language skills learning pursuit."
An anagram is a type of word play, the result of rearranging the letters of a word or phrase to produce a new word or phrase, using all the original letters exactly once. For example:
• Debit Card is anagram of Bad Credit.
• The Eyes is anagram of They See.
In a game of Word Play, one must use all the letters of the original word or else it doesn’t count. Playing is fun, and playing against someone else and against time is even better. Word Play is an anagram word game that one can play against the computer or go head-to-head against someone else.
The game is played with a deck of computer generated word cards and a cognitions board.
Game Levels:
• Level 1: plays 4 letter anagram words
• Level 2: plays 5 letter Anagram words
• Level 3: plays 6 letter words that are scrambled except for the first and last letter [play to unscramble the 6 letter word]
Single Player: Plays against the computer. Computer acts as mentor, but does not correct the player’s mistakes. It also does not take a turn.
Two Players: Play against each other by taking turns. The current player has the opportunity to score points by correcting the opponent’s mistakes in word formation.
Score: Running score is updated each time a player completes his turn.
Scoring System: Current player earns 1 point for a correct 4 letter word, 2 points for a correct 5 letter word, and 3 points for a correct 6 letter word.
Challenge: A wrong word formation or time-out causes the current player to lose his turn and gives the next player the opportunity to score a point by finishing the last player’s incomplete word formation. Each player has 30sec to complete their move.
Playing with words and language is both entertaining and educational. Anagrams are in themselves a recreational activity, but they also make up part of many other games, puzzles and game shows. Because Word Play is on a timer, players don't have the chance to consult a dictionary or use the Anagram software to search for possible words. It’s purely a game of skill and knowledge… and a player either has it or he doesn’t.
Game of Word Play is designed in the labs… but proven in real life to engage, exercise, nurture, and develop a range of cognitive skills from working memory to fluid intelligence. In a game between an adult and a youth, the adult can take the fun opportunity to teach and mentor on the basis of shared interests and nurture the youth's memory skills, language skills, logical thinking and reasoning skills, decision making skills, and social skills such as turn taking, graceful winning [or loosing] and being patient with others.
The origin of anagrams goes right back to the dawn of recorded history. Initially, they were perceived as harboring secret or prophetic messages. “Scrabble is essentially an Anagram game, and if you like Scrabble, you will probably love 21 Word Play,” said Anant Goel.
Getting from good to great with Word Play is only a matter of time and practice; no matter what the player's beginning skill set, they can quickly learn powerful word combinations and enjoy the uniqueness of each game with progressively complex game levels.
Children who are especially proficient in linguistics and understanding complex vocabulary are particularly enthusiastic about 21 Word Play. By playing regularly, they can exercise their natural talents in a competitive form. People can improve their brain's overall health and longevity by playing against the computer or competing with that smart kid next door.
