Robert S. Pehrsson Announces Release of ‘Peanut Butter Fridays’
Mount Pleasant, MI (PRWEB) August 23, 2013 -- “Peanut Butter Fridays” (published by Abbott Press) takes place in Brooklyn, NYC, during the 1950s, where Bobby Anderson and his best friend, Earnest, attend Mass on Sundays most of the time, have peanut butter sandwiches on Fridays and discover treasures every day.
When Bobby’s fourth grade teacher instructs the class to write a friendly letter, his troubles begin. Although Bobby repeatedly complains about this assignment, once he starts, he just keeps on going, writing hundreds of letters in which he describes adventures that will make readers laugh a lot, and sometimes cry a little. Bobby and Earnest play stick ball in the streets, find treasures in garbage, train cockroaches to run mazes, feel the joys and pains of first love, cope with the nuns at their Catholic School and come to the aid of beautiful ladies in their neighborhood. As he matures, Bobby’s language evolves from “Brooklynese” to Standard English. Although Bobby develops as a writer, he remains innocent and somewhat naïve. So, he relies on Earnest who knows the answers to life’s challenging questions, most of which he makes up. “‘Peanut Butter Fridays’ is more than enjoyable,” says Pehrsson, “it is also a thought provoking interpretation of the world through the eyes of two young boys and their many friends.”
“Bobby Anderson and Earnest are two of the most likeable kids I ever met,” states Pehrsson. “I hope readers enjoy these guys as much as I do.”
