Roberto Clemente's Son Roberto Clemente, Jr. Shares His Book “Clemente: The True Legacy of an Undying Hero,” on The Simply G Radio Show, a Division of The Simply G Media
Pittsburgh, PA (PRWEB) March 27, 2014 -- Co-host Vi Millioniare GJ Reynolds and co-host Neil Haley, The Total Tutor, interviewed Roberto Clemente Jr. to find out about the book Clemente: The True Legacy of an Undying Hero that he wrote about his father and a device he is promoting to detect traumatic brain injury.
The son of Hall of Fame baseball legend Roberto Clemente, Clemente, Jr is a baseball broadcaster and former professional baseball player from San Juan, Puerto Rico. Roberto suffered 8 concussions by the age of 8 and has been suffering from symptoms related to those concussions since he was young. Last year, he was treated for concussions in Texas. His balance went from 64 percent to 84 percent in a few weeks and his peripheral vision improved.
In this interview, Clemente, Jr discussed one of the symptoms of the multiple concussions, explaining that when he closed his eyes he felt like he was falling. Now that he's received help after years of problems, his mission is to promote a device that detects a traumatic brain injury, the Intro Scanner 2000. The Intro scanner 2000 is something he wants to continue to push in every school in America.
GJ Reynolds, said, “I have a teenager who had a concussion. We never got a CT scan. I also never knew how unhealthy a CT scan is. Roberto, you should be happy to know that you impacted at least one family—mine."
Also in the interview, Clemente, Jr said that he's very excited about Clemente: The True Legacy of an Undying Hero, the book he and his family wrote about his father. In the book, Clemente, Jr. said, you can learn how his father was behind closed doors and how he handled himself outside of baseball as a husband and a father.
“Al Oliver spoke so highly about your father," said co-host Haley. "He said how great a person, how good of a mentor and how great as a father figure he was to him."
One of the most important things Clemente, Jr. and his family are trying to do with the book is to extend their father's legacy and teach children about the Pittsburgh Pirates legend.
