Robertson Worldwide Secures Complete Victory in Claim Construction Proceeding in Patent Infringement Lawsuit against Super X Manufacturing Ltd.
Blue Island, Illinois (PRWEB) June 02, 2014 -- A Chicago federal district judge recently ruled on the meaning of the terms in Robertson’s patents asserted in the lawsuit, and adopted the meaning of the terms that Robertson urged for every disputed term in Robertson’s patents. The judge also rejected the Defendants’ arguments that Robertson’s asserted patent claims are invalid because the claims are allegedly indefinite.
Robertson’s patent infringement lawsuit contends that the United States-based Defendants purchased electronic ballasts for fluorescent lighting from Hong Kong-based Defendant Super X, and then illegally sold those ballasts in the United States under their own labels. The electronic ballasts at issue use patented technology invented by Robertson. Robertson alleges that Super X obtained the ballast designs from Robertson after Robertson contracted with Super X to manufacture Robertson’s ballasts, which incorporate its patented technology. Robertson contends that Super X then illegally sold identical ballasts containing the patented design to Robertson’s competitors. Robertson is seeking monetary damages and an injunction against all Defendants.
Robertson’s CEO, Mr. William “Sandy” Bryant, stated that, “the Court’s decision clears the path for us to proceed to trial against the Defendants”.
