Robinson Helicopter Enhances Production with Avure Fluid Cell Press
Columbus, OH (PRWEB) July 08, 2014 -- Robinson Helicopter Company, the world’s leading manufacturer of civil helicopters, is installing a fluid cell press from Avure Technologies to enhance component production in its state-of-the-art facility in Torrance, Calif.
Ideal for economical low-volume, high-quality sheet metal forming, the Avure model QFC 0.7x1.8-800 Flexform™ fluid cell press features rectangular trays measuring 27.5” x 72” (700 x 1850 mm). The press will be used primarily for the forming and production of structural and reinforcement sheet-metal components for Robinson’s popular series of helicopters. It will also be used for rapid parts prototyping in new helicopter model development.
According to Wayne Walden, Vice President, Production, of Robinson Helicopter, the Avure press results in tighter parts tolerances and lower per-part production costs.
