“Six weeks after we moved into our new home near Pegtown, Tom and I were stopped at Pegtown’s one and only stoplight – and it’s still the only one. It was 5:00 a.m. and I was in labour for our firstborn and, unknown even to me, within an hour of delivery. While stopped for that red traffic signal, Tom and I came to one of the few things in our married life together that we’ve agreed upon and stuck to.”
“It looks back to the ’80s and ’90s, at how things were different in a rural community without all the amenities of city life or even compared to life nowadays,” she says. “It also shows a marked difference in child-rearing techniques – or lack of them.”
