Rock n’ Roll Gala for Autism kicks-off Autism Awareness Month
SAN RAFAEL, CA (PRWEB) February 25, 2015 -- Anova (http://www.anovaeducation.org), a Northern California non-profit providing innovative education and treatment services to children living with autism, invites the community to a grand kick-off to Autism Awareness Month at their 2nd annual Rock n’ Roll Gala for Autism. The Gala will take place on Saturday, March 28, 2015 at the Fenix in San Rafael, an elegant fine dining and live music venue. The funds raised will support Anova’s mission to create a critically needed school specializing in autism treatment and serving as a comprehensive community resource for Marin County.
With autism affecting 1 in 68 children (1 in 42 boys), Anova’s current location in San Rafael is not sufficient to serve the growing demand of children that require specialized services. “We need a home,” says Andrew Bailey, Anova’s Co-founder. “We don’t have a library, gym or cafeteria. There’s no play area. The new Anova Center for Education in Marin will set the standard for education of children with autism in the Bay Area and throughout California.”
Last year’s Gala was a great success with the community raising nearly $200,000 toward their CARE Campaign’s capital goal. Anova is proud to have Congressman Jared Huffman returning this year as the Gala’s Honorary Chair. With the continued support of Mayor Willie Brown, Lt. Gov. Gavin Newsom, Senator Mike McGuire, and a host of dedicated community members serving on the Honorary Committee, this year’s gala, themed Don’t Stop Believin’ with legendary rock performed by Journey Revisited, is sure to be a memorable evening.
Anova won’t stop believing that their dream to build a critically needed new home for their ACE Marin campus will become a reality.
