Rodney Lough Jr. Inspires the Boys & Girls Clubs of Silicon Valley with StandHere.net Talk, Donations
San Jose, CA (PRWEB) July 24, 2013 -- Master Wilderness Photographer Rodney Lough Jr. regaled 100 delightful young members of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Silicon Valley with a lively talk about his background, his art and especially his exciting new travel, photography and hiking website, StandHere.net. He also promised that a portion of the proceeds from Stand Here would be donated back to the group, and gave each attendee 3 free Viewpoints in the Stand Here system.
Rodney told the gathered youth all about Stand Here and how it acts as a guide to the most beautiful places on the planet. The website, he explained, shows everyone how to travel and hike to the exact locations of all of his spectacular images. This includes many Viewpoints right in the middle of the San Francisco Bay Area, easily accessible to his young audience.
A large part of the talk focused on one of the most important aspects of Stand Here: protecting our world’s remaining pristine, wild places. He told the children how a portion of the sale of each Viewpoint is donated back to protect that exact spot, and how they can do their part by respecting and honoring the wild places they visit.
The Boys and Girls Clubs of Silicon Valley was founded in 1944. Its mission is “to inspire and empower all young people, especially those who need us most, to realize their full potential as productive, responsible and caring adults.” They offer great after-school and summer programs for low-income, high-risk youth, serving more than 15,000 annually.
Stand Here is the new website from Master Wilderness Photographer Rodney Lough Jr. that guides its users to the most stunning spots on earth. With detailed maps and hiking instructions, free park information ranging from Rodney’s favorite hotels to visitor center hours and all the details on just where and when to go, Stand Here gives you everything you’ll need to visit the most beautiful places on the planet.
