Ross Local School District Advances Personalized Learning with icurio
CINCINNATI, Ohio (PRWEB) March 31, 2015 -- Dedicated to preparing its students for today’s global workforce, Ross Local School District in Ohio has selected learning engagement solution icurio as a key component of its 1:1 Personalized Learning Initiative. Created by Knovation, the leader in advanced personalized learning solutions, icurio delivers quality, standards-aligned Open Educational Resources (OER) that are relevant to each grade, subject area and learner.
The district’s 1:1 Personalized Learning Initiative began earlier this year to transform learning for 2,845 students across its four schools. The initiative provides every student in grades 5-12 a Chromebook laptop to promote personalized learning and 21st century skills. Made possible by a $949,987 Straight A Fund Grant from the Ohio Department of Education, the 1:1 Personalized Learning Initiative will utilize icurio to target digital resources to meet individual student needs.
“Our goal is to personalize learning for every student and ensure they are college and career ready,” said Kathy DiBlasi, director of curriculum and instruction at Ross Local School District. “icurio allows us to do this by helping teachers locate vetted digital resources, incorporate them into their lessons and deliver them right through their Learning Management System.”
As Ross School District increases the use of technology in its classrooms, educators will use icurio to deliver vetted content that supports its digital curriculum. With a focus on formative assessments, icurio enables educators to find and deliver the best content that supports the positive remediation and enrichment of all students.
“icurio provides meaningful and usable curated content that supports each school district’s unique shift to a digital learning model,” said Randy Wilhelm, CEO of Knovation. “This ensures educators don’t have to access multiple websites and resources to provide personalized, digital content that aligns to district goals such as the 1:1 Personalized Learning Initiative.”
