Rotary Senior Living Celebrates National Assisted Living Week With The Theme "Keep Connected" Starting September 11th Through September 17, 2016
(PRWEB) September 06, 2016 -- National Assisted Living Week 2016 theme, “Keep Connected,” recognizes the increasing opportunity technology can offer to enhance the care and overall experience in assisted living communities.
“Keep Connected” encourages assisted living communities to support opportunities for residents to use the latest communication tools to engage with the world around them.
Furthermore, “Keep Connected” acknowledges the myriad ways assisted living staff and supporting business partners are revolutionizing the care provided in these communities through innovations in technology.
However, “Keep Connected” is about more than technology. Assisted living reminds us that sometimes the best relationships are formed face-to-face. For many staff members, residents become family, and this bond can never be broken. Meanwhile, assisted living communities are an integral part of the larger community. Staff cultivate connections with local families, business owners, government organizations, community organizers and others to ensure that residents remain an active part of where they call home.
Rotary Senior Living will be celebrating the week by promoting face-to-face communication and interaction activities for the residents and the community to join in. The activities planned include:
September 12th at 10 am - Reading with Melanie's Kids
September 13 at 2 pm - Department of Natural Resources (DNR) Pet Visit
September 13 at 3 pm - Pie in the Dining Room
September 14 at 10 am - Museum visit with Joel
September 14 at 3 pm - Ice Cream in the Dining Room
September 15 at 10 am - Show and Tell. Everyone is to bring a photo or heirloom to show and talk about with the group
September 15 at 12 pm - Sack Lunch
September 16 at 1 pm - Tractor Show with Larry
"Staying with the theme of "Keep Connected", we will have activities that encourage interaction with the group, program and the presenter." says Tara Behrendsen, Project Manager at Rotary Senior Living. "Connecting with the community, family and friends plays a very important role in the care of our residents at Rotary Senior Living."
