Rotary Senior Living In Eagle Grove, Iowa Receives A 4 Out Of 5 Star Rating From The Centers For Medicare And Medicaid Services (CMS)
Eagle Grove, Iowa (PRWEB) May 17, 2016 -- People go to nursing homes for different reasons, including if they’re sick, hurt, had surgery and need to get better, or have chronic care needs or disabilities that require on-going nursing care. It is important that you make informed decisions about nursing home care, whether you are planning ahead or need to make an unexpected decision.
The Five-Star Quality Rating System created by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) is designed to provide a system that gives each nursing home a rating of between 1 and 5 stars. Ratings of 5 stars are nursing homes that have above average quality while a 1 star is considered to have a quality much below average. There are separate ratings for the areas of health inspections, staffing and quality measures(QMs) and then the overall 5-star rating.
Health inspections will contain information from the last three (3) years for onsite inspections, including both standard surveys and any complaint surveys. Trained, objective inspectors are onsite and follow a specific process to determine the extent to which a nursing home has met Medicaid and Medicare’s minimum quality requirements.
Ratings for staffing includes the number of hours of care provided on average to each resident each day by nursing staff. Differences in the levels of residents’ care is considered in each location based on the specific needs of each of the residents.
Quality Measures (QMs) covers 11 different physical and clinical measures for nursing home residents. The QMs provides information on how well nursing homes are caring for their residents’ physical and clinical needs.
“The 4 out of 5 Star Rating by the CMS is a direct reflection of the quality of care and professional nursing staff at Rotary Senior Living,” states Brandi Larsen, Director of Nursing at Rotary Senior Living. “Management and all the staff have worked diligently to receive and maintain our rating.”
