Round The World for £12 pppn...using Timeshare

Taking inspiration from the Jules Vern classic “Around The World In Eighty Days”, the team at eXpectations publicly challenged themselves to test the flexibility of their flagship points-based holiday product.
Utilising a membership of 80,000 points (an amount which could typically be used to book 7 nights in a 3 bedroom apartment during the peak holiday season), the team secured over 80 nights of accommodation. This was accomplished by making use of late booking discounts, smaller sized accommodation and special offers.
Using real-time availability from their exchange partner, RCI, the virtual journey was documented on the company’s website and took in twelve destinations including Italy, Goa, Thailand, Las Vegas and Cancun.

The overall standard of accommodation was respectfully high. The team tallied up all the ratings from one popular online travel site which showed that, on average, 73% of ratings were either "Excellent" or "Very Good". Highlights included the Grand Mayan Riviera Maya Resort in Cancun and the Grandview Las Vegas both of which have exceedingly favourable feedback online.
As for the value-for-money, after the initial, one-off cost of purchasing a membership of 80,000 points, the average cost of the accommodation worked out to be less than £12 per person per night.
