RoxAnne Moore’s new book “Out of the Blue: A Mother's Memoir of Our Family's Transgender Experience” is a thought-inspiring narrative of acceptance and love.
(PRWEB) October 24, 2017 -- RoxAnne Moore, a mother of two children, with a master of arts degree from the University of North Dakota, has completed her new book “Out of the Blue: A Mother's Memoir of Our Family's Transgender Experience”: a timely account that discusses the issues the LGBT community and their families face after declaring their pride out in the open.
Author Moore gives readers the idea of how people perceive such an emotionally charged decision to reveal one’s hidden secret, and how this impacts those close to them: “One time I remember not only being frustrated but getting extremely angry with her because it seemed (at least to me) she had gone completely overboard to show her best friend how much she liked her. I had given her money to buy an outfit for a special occasion that was coming up. Her friend went with her to shop for the outfit, but when she got home she was empty-handed. When I asked her why she hadn’t bought anything she simply explained to me that she’d spent it on an outfit for her friend instead. ‘She really wanted it, Mom. And she didn’t have any money to buy it, so I got it for her. Besides, I don’t really need a new outfit anyway and it really made her happy!’ It may have made her friend happy, but it made me very angry. Partly, because it seemed to me that her friends never seemed to reciprocate and I thought Cathy was just ‘too good’ of a friend and told her so on more than one occasion.”
Published by New York City-based Page Publishing, RoxAnne Moore’s gripping composition tells the significant notions of how each person has his or her own way of dealing with the LGBT community, the bigotry they face from society and even from their own families, and how everyone should have an open mind to the relevant changes such as coming out of the closet.
