Royal Caribbean's Anthem of the Seas Features Four Venues Designed by Hollywood Architecture Firm 5+design
PAPENBURG, GERMANY (PRWEB) February 08, 2015 -- Hollywood, CA architecture Firm 5+design will have several of its venue designs featured onboard Royal Caribbean’s newest cruise ship, Anthem of the Seas.
Following Royal Caribbean’s Quantum of the Seas, Anthem of the Seas is Royal Caribbean's second ship in the Quantum-class and will feature 5+design’s iconic Two70, Two70 Café, The Library, Royal Esplanade and Via and Spice venues.
5+design’s venues enabled Royal Caribbean to carry out its vision of creating a new level of synergy between technology and design that is unparalleled on both land and sea. As a result, Anthem, along with all other ships in the Quantum Class, exhibit a breakthrough in the way guests interact with the ship while onboard.
To further express this synergistic relationship while creating a transcendent experience for passengers, 5+design equipped the venues to deploy unique programing and technology, allowing the ship to achieve its key innovative concept of transformational spaces.
“These ships were designed to represent a quantum leap forward in technology, sustainability, and passenger experience,” said 5+design Principal Tim Magill. “Royal Esplanade shopping arcade transforms into a parade and performance venue with the deployment of hidden theatrical lighting, actors flying through the space on concealed ceiling tracks and merchandise displays transforming into to elevated stages. However the best example of transformational space can be found in the multi-level great room called Two70.”
During the day, Two70 provides passengers a place to relax in a casual living room setting, taking in the sweeping view through over seven meters of tall glass windows. A themed bar, adjacent restaurant, a library, activity rooms and casual seating rest above, offering guests a complete range of leisure choices.
The popular Royal Esplanade and Via will continue to converge luxury and casual lifestyle accoutrements into a winding multi-level thoroughfare. Lined with charming boutiques, clubs, cafe and bars amidst whimsical works of modern art, the Royal Esplanade and Via runs through the center of the ship to offer unique options in dining, entertainment and shopping including craft beer, live performance, and a collection of celebrated fashion brands.
Royal Caribbean’s Anthem of the Seas is scheduled to debut in Southampton (London), England on April 22, 2015. Following its maiden season in Europe, the ship will homeport in Cape Liberty (Bayonne), New Jersey and cruise the Bahamas/the Caribbean throughout the winter of 2015-16.
The 167,800gt vessel is scheduled to be floated out of Meyer Werft’s building dock II on February 8, 2015.
